Retired Police Lieutenant and avid amateur radio operator Don Wood, who is also a new Prepper because of his Bible study of the End Times, stumbles on a new form of communication he calls, "ParaCW" while experimenting with his ham radio gear, computer and an old smartphone. After a surprise visit at Don's local amateur radio club meeting by FCC Enforcement Agent Larry Turner, Don soon realizes that the FCC and eventually the FBI are quite interested in his find, but for what purpose? They claim it's to help out his government, he thinks it's for other reasons. As the story unfolds, one of FCC Enforcement Agents becomes a friend and the other a foe. As book one closes, Don relives one of the most difficult times of his life as a law enforcement officer when he suffers a loss.

Being a ham radio operator I was curious about this book starting from the unique cover with dits and dahs on it. The pages between front and back cover delivered on my curiosity venture. Sometimes as I read the pages reality was being exposed in some unique way. Then the end setting up book 2 in this series was awesome. A must read and looking forward to book 2.Product details

Enjoyable read that started slowly and built up to a good point that left me waiting for the next sequel.
The story was good enough to keep me reading despite the technical inaccuracies. Having got my first ham license over 50 years ago, I can promise you that no self-respecting ham would say "10-4" ever. Also, call signs in the US begin with the letters A, K, N, or W. Those were some of the bigger technical errors that stood out.
Having done a little research, I see that the author is actually an Extra Class amateur radio operator like myself. I can only surmise that there is an editorial reason for the lack of authenticity in the call signs.

Very enjoyable and suspenseful read. As a ham, I enjoyed many of the technical insights. First heard mentioned during an interview on prepper recon with Mark Goodwin (who is also a fine author). Just purchased book 2 and looking forward to reading it soon.
Had a hard time putting this down but could not wait to see what happened next. Am not a ham myself but was amazed at all the tech info that was mentioned. Will be waiting to see where the next book takes us. Come on August!
As a ham radio operator, I look forward to books that discuss the hobby. While ParaCW, as described in the book, doesn't exist, we had love tinkering and experimenting. Thanks for writing a fun book that educates about the hobby. de kf5ygb
This is a great fiction book that is clean and appropriate for any reader. The HAM radio theme to the book is great, but you don't have to be a radio enthusiast to enjoy the book. The contrasting moral values of the characters is really interesting along with the change in values and priorities that progress through the series.
For his first book, I have to say that I am impressed by RG's talent. It keeps a nice steady pace, doesn't go off topic and a truly Interesting story line with a promise of a more adventuresome & complex second novel. I like the way he implements his home life & a little wife humor into the story. I'll look forward to his second book.
